VISION

Jerusalem University College (JUC), also known as the American Institute of Holy Land Studies, is an extension campus for Gordon students in Jerusalem, Israel. As a student, you’ll participate in serious academic study in a variety of areas—biblical backgrounds and historical geography, Middle Eastern cultures and languages, the religions of the Middle East, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

JUC is approved for majors or minors in Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Ministries and History. To gain eligibility you must:

  • Have Sophomore standing or above
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Possess a strong commitment to academics and Christianity

CREDIT

The program allows you to study the Christian Scriptures where the events occurred as well as study Middle Eastern:

  • Languages
  • Social and political culture
  • Religions
  • Historical relationships

COST

The Global Education Office will work with Student Financial Services to reassess each applicant's institutional aid for their off-campus semester. Institutional aid includes Gordon-awarded merit scholarships and grants, honors program awards, and major-or department-specific awards. Federal and private aid will not be affected. Factors in the reassessment process include financial need, GEO program flexibility within your major/minor, and program cost. SFS will provide a breakdown of costs to each student after approval has been issued by the GEO.Per U.S. Department of Education policy, students’ federal and state financial aid cannot be applied to costs for this program, it is critical that students interested in JUC consult with Gordon's Student Financial Services Office. The regular cost of a 16-credit semester at Gordon covers:

  • JUC application and visa fees
  • Tuition
  • Fees
  • Room and board
  • Program-related costs of the semester

Not covered:

  • Flights
  • Personal expenses
  • Independent Travel

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & DEADLINES

All Gordon students must first submit an online seat application to the Global Education Office before applying directly to your program. Fall and Spring seat applications must be submitted to the GEO by March 1.

After the Global Education Office has notified you of your approval, you may then proceed with the program's application. See Jerusalem University's website for more information on application and deadlines.
