WORK: CURSE OR CALLING?
CIVA Traveling Exhibition
JANUARY 14–FEBRUARY 16, 2012
An exhibition sponsored by Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA), brings together the work of 31 artists and 37 artworks from 13 states across North America. This exhibition explores a delightful range of responses to the initial "call for work" and offers the viewer meaningful encounters with a truly germane topic: the meaning and purpose of work. Showcasing innovative approaches to materials and images, Work: Curse or Calling? should pique curiosity and spark dialogue.

ALLISON LUCE: Ancient Expanse
AUGUST 27–OCTOBER 7, 2011
Ancient Expanse is a site-specific installation Allison made and photographed in Denmark as a Resident Artist at the International Ceramic Research Center Guldagergaard. This work was photographed at the beach in the town where she was living. These pieces are a reaction to her new environment and are a reflection of the coastline along the southwestern coast of New Zealand. Ancient Expanse explores the boundaries between perception, reality, time and space. The photographs document a fleeting moment in time where the natural and unnatural meet and interact. They serve as a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life.
