THE NEXT GENERATION: Contemporary Images of Faith
August 26-October 14, 2006
Cosponsored by Gordon College and CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts), this exhibition opened in August 2005 at MoBiA (Museum of Biblical Art) in New York City. It represents a spectrum of contemporary art, deriving its energy and subject matter from biblical faith. The show is on a national tour and makes its second stop here at Gordon College for our early fall gallery season.
A book by the same title was released concurrently and serves as a catalog of the exhibition (2005, Grand Rapids, Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing). The book contains several important critical essays on the art in the show as well as the theoretical and historical context out of which the art has arisen.
