He has worked in newspapers, broadcasting, with aid agencies, government and church organizations for more than two decades. Jarrod Goentzel

Jarrod Goentzel is founder and director of the MIT Humanitarian Response Lab, which strives to make supply chains more responsive to human needs. His research focuses on supply chain, transportation, information management and decision support systems. Based in the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, Dr. Goentzel has developed graduate-level courses in supply chain finance, international operations and humanitarian logistics and has extensive experience using simulation games to develop intuition and leadership skills. He also directs the MIT Renewable Energy Delivery project.

Randall Balmer

Dr. Randall Balmer earned his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1985 and taught as Professor of American Religious History at Columbia University for twenty-seven years before becoming the Mandel Family Professor in the Arts & Sciences at Dartmouth College in 2012. Two years later, he was named Dartmouth Professor in the Arts & Sciences, and in 2015 he was named to the John Phillips Chair in Religion, the oldest endowed professorship at Dartmouth. He is a prize-winning historian and Emmy Award nominee.

Dr. Rowe is the Dean of Student Engagement at Gordon College. He works with his colleagues to create a campus climate of opportunity, leadership development and integrated student learning experiences for a student body that is increasingly diverse and global. This is so that, according to the College mission, they are prepared “to provide faithful leadership and service for the common good.” This will often mean looking out for specific ways for students to connect what is happening inside the classroom with what is happening outside the classroom.

David Helfand

Dr. Helfand is a licensed clinical psychologist. He received his doctorate from William James College in Newton, MA where he focused on health psychology. He is also certified as a neurofeedback clinician and Kripalu yoga instructor. Dr. Helfand collaborates with his clients while infusing principles of mindfulness, yoga, and insight oriented therapies to move them towards health and wellbeing. He has also maintained a personal yoga and meditation practice since 2005 and deeply believes in the power of these techniques.
