Meet the Gordon Choirs

General Information

If you are a singer, this is an exciting opportunity to learn more about the choral scene at Gordon College and rehearse and perform with the Gordon College choirs in our intergenerational Community of Song concert.

We invite you to come and experience our music-making by performing with us on two combined pieces or by simply listening to the performance. This year we will perform "Wahamba Nathi" arranged by Daniel Jackson (Walton, WW 1948), and "Jubilate Deo: Movement I" from Jubilate Deo by Dan Forrest (Hinshaw, AMC 2553).

This will be an impactful musical experience that will help you catch a glimpse of choral singing at Gordon. You don’t want to miss it!

Participating in this special visit day will give you the opportunity to:

  • Learn from our inspiring choir conductors, Dr. Minji Kim and Dr. Ya Lin Huang, by observing or singing in the rehearsal with the choirs
  • Observe or perform in the Community of Song concert that afternoon
  • Repertoire includes: "Wahamba Nathi" arranged by Daniel Jackson (Walton, WW 1948), and Jubilate Deo: Movement I" from Jubilate Deo by Dan Forrest (Hinshaw, AMC 2553)

  • Personally meet and chat with our choir conductors after the concert
  • Meet music students and learn more about our music programs
  • Join the in-depth tour of Phillips Music Center

If you are a singer and would like to rehearse and perform with the Gordon Choirs, please register by October 20.

After your registration, Dr. Minji Kim and Dr. Ya Lin Huang will personally reach out to you and provide you with music and practice resources to prepare for the concert.
