If you are a high school woodwind, brass or percussion player, don’t miss the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Gordon Symphonic Band for a night! This will be an immersive and impactful experience that will give you insight into college music-making and inspire you for your continuing music journey.
Participating in this special visit day will give you the opportunity to:
The concert is titled “Not the Same Old Song and Dance!” and will include: Vientos y Tangos by Gandolfi; Second Suite in F by Holst; and Danzon No. 2 by Marquez. We’ll also be joined by our fantastic trombone instructor, Don Lucas, playing Morceau de Concert by Guilmant and by the President of Gordon College, Mike Hammond, who will be narrating Lincoln Portrait by Copland! Students who take part in “Meet the Band” will be invited to play Danzon No. 2 by Marquez!
If you are a woodwind, brass or percussion player and would like to rehearse and perform with the Gordon Symphonic Orchestra for a night, please register by October 4.
After your registration, Dr. Southard will personally reach out to you and provide you with music and practice resources to prepare for the concert.

To get the full College experience, we recommend that you book your overnight stay with a Gordon music student and also register to attend Explore Gordon with the option of a Music Track on October 14.
Registration deadline to play with the Band: All registrations must be received by October 4.
