Through the Spanish program at Gordon, you will work to achieve language proficiency as you also study the historical development and cultural expression of Spanish-speaking countries. Opportunities to study in Spain, and Central and South America offer immersion experiences that can take your communication skills to the next level.

In Gordon’s Spanish program, students can study abroad for a semester. During semesters when you study on campus, Gordon’s location in the multicultural Greater Boston area offers opportunities for involvement in local Spanish-speaking communities and church congregations.

What careers can I pursue by studying Spanish?

Knowing a foreign language well is an advantage in any job, and an optional internship will bolster your resume and your confidence. Your proficiency in Spanish will prove beneficial in a wide variety of careers, including:

Go the extra mile!

Join the Spanish club and enjoy events it hosts throughout the year. Grab your lunch and join the weekly Spanish language table. Attend cultural events in the Greater Boston area, and participate in one of Gordon’s service learning trips to a Spanish-speaking country—including the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Nicaragua. Given your linguistic skills and cultural insight as a Spanish major, you might even consider initiating a service-learning trip to another Spanish-speaking location.
