“I have gotten more out of Gordon's Theatre Department than I ever thought possible as a student. The professionalism and collaborative process that is intertwined with my peers and professors is an experience unlike anywhere else. This program truly values student leadership.”

“Gordon College theatre provides students with skills that immediately apply to life in the working world in ways that most people don’t realize; becoming a proficient actor is extremely helpful in providing a personable and likable personality that appeals to employers and co-workers, it is no wonder that many in the nursing field tend to have theatrical roots. Additionally, the technical production aspects of theatre teach a breadth of skills from carpentry, to electrics, and in general production management, talents that are always in search of hard workers.
One of the things that I treasure most about Gordon Theatre is the mission statement, which aims to make the invisible kingdom visible by connecting an audience to deep and compelling themes through putting on productions. Being able to have such a dedication in focus helps students realize not only the value of theatre and pride of putting up a show, but also of using theatre to make the world a better place through the messages we want to spread.”

“Gordon’s theater department has helped mold me into a young and confident professional, who can contribute to high-quality work, but who also has a desire to continue to learn. Come into the department ready to jump in and learn. You will grow tremendously in doing so, not only in your craft but also in your character.”

“The sense of community you feel once you enter the department is so immediate and tangible. The professors and students are ready to welcome you and diligently seek to get to know you more and your interests. The education and experience you receive will prepare you for any field in the theatre world - in our department and in outside companies. Students are an integral part of the creative process, given opportunities to explore different areas: performance, design, management, etc. and thus develop their skills and marketability.”

“Gordon’s theatre program has been super welcoming from both students and faculty alike. They care more about you as an individual than just what you can “bring to the table.” Not only that but the fact that it’s a Christian community, I know that it’s not the just educational walk I’m having here but also a spiritual one.”

“There’s something truly special about creating art with a community of believers who will support and challenge you to be a better version of yourself. I know the education I am receiving among the community in Gordon’s theatre program is preparing me for a successful career and a life of loving others.”
