Music Experience Day

General Information

Music Experience Day is a fantastic opportunity for high school musicians to attend Gordon music classes, observe and participate in ensemble rehearsals, sit in on lessons and coachings, learn from our faculty and meet our students! You will experience firsthand just how exciting, inspiring and rewarding the music program at Gordon can be for you.

Whether you want to pursue a music major in college or just want to discover ways to continue making music during your college career, this is your chance to jump in and experience it now! Please join us for this special experience at Gordon College; it will be our honor to host you.

Note: If you are a high school senior, please consider signing up for music auditions on February 17 and stay overnight for Music Experience Day on February 18.

8:45 a.m. Check-in at the Phillips Music Building
9:00 a.m. Welcome from the Dean of the Adams School of Music and the Arts
9:45 a.m. Music History & Literature I
9:45 a.m. Conducting
11:30 a.m. Observe College Choir rehearsal
12:30 p.m. Lunch at Lane Cafe with Music Students
1:30 p.m. Parents Session
1:45 p.m. Music Theory III
2 p.m. Various lessons, coaching, chamber music
4.00 p.m. Q&A session with Music Faculty and current music students
4:40 p.m. Observe Chamber Music coaching
4:40 p.m. Observe Men's Choir rehearsal
5:30 p.m. Dinner at Lane with Music Students 
6:30 p.m. Observe Gordon College Symphony Orchestra rehearsal
