Students in Gordon College's Kinesiology program are well-prepared to take a number of professional certification exams. The certificates will allow students to begin practicing in specialized jobs, even before graduation! The following is a list of recommended certificates, Kinesiology courses students should take first, and additional requirements.
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)
To become an EMT in Massachusetts, students must receive initial training from an OEMS-accredited EMT training institution and apply for initial certification. Continuing education is required and courses are provided through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.

In addition to taking the following Kinesiology courses, it is strongly recommended that students prepare by using ACSM preparation materials and/or enroll in ACSM Workshops & Webinars.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):
To become a CNA in Massachusetts, students must enroll in a training program that has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health and pass the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation (NACE).
