William Gray has taught tuba and brass class at Gordon College since 2000. He has studied with many fine teachers, including Jerry Shaw and F. Chester Roberts. Mr. Gray entered the United States Army after graduating from high school. He graduated from the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, VA, and performed for three years with the 5th Infantry Division Band in Fort Polk, LA, playing at many military and civilian functions throughout the southeastern United States.

He has taught throughout Massachusetts’ North Shore, conducting ensembles in Ipswich, Triton Regional, Middleton, Boxford and Pentucket Regional schools. Mr. Gray is currently Assistant Director of Bands at Masconomet Regional Schools. Many of his ensembles and private students have played and participated in Northeast District and All-State Festivals.

In addition to teaching and freelancing as a tuba player, he is the founding member of The Pneuma Brass Quintet, which performs throughout New England and has served as the quintet in residence at Park Street Church in Boston.
