Interested high school musicians can join us on Gordon College’s beautiful campus to perform their District or All-State solos and receive valuable feedback from Dr. Gabe Southard, Director of the Gordon College Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Band and Professor Gerald Dolan, Director of the Gordon College Jazz Ensemble and Dr. Sarita Kwok, Chair of the Gordon College Department of Music.
Students will perform in a supportive master-class setting, receive written and verbal comments that will encourage and foster their musical growth and improve their audition skills. The workshop concludes with a panel discussion with Gordon faculty and music students on audition preparation, including tips for overcoming performance anxiety. This will be a unique opportunity for students to work through their performance nerves before the “real” auditions. This Audition Prep Day will include all Orchestra, Band and Jazz Ensemble students.
If you want to prepare for your District or All-State solo and are an Orchestra, Band and Jazz Ensemble instrumentalist, please register by November 6.
After your registration Dr. Southard or Mr. Dolan will personally reach out to you and provide further program details.
