Art faculty members are professionals in each of their specialty areas. They are artists who teach the very media they practice, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and design.

  • Faculty members exhibit their work nationally and internationally from New York and Boston to St. Petersburg, Russia and Florence, Italy.
  • Their works reside in many national and international collections.
  • Each is a member of Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) and the College is a member of the College Art Association (CAA).

Matthew Doll is a painter and graphic designer. He is the Program Director of the Gordon In Orvieto semester program, where his Disegno / Drawing course serves as the cornerstone of the curriculum. Previously Doll taught drawing at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem for six years. Kelly Foster

Kelly Foster

Associate Professor of Art

Kelly Foster is an architect and multi-disciplinary designer. A native Texan, he has lived and practiced architecture in several Texas cities, in Boston, and in the North Shore area. Before arriving at Gordon, Professor Foster taught all kinds of design — architecture, graphic design, animation, product design, and engineering — at a high school in the Austin area for over a decade.

Deborah Stanton

Professor of Art History

Deborah Garbee Stanton is a professional artist born in Lynchburg, Virginia. She trained in pastels and oil painting from age 9 in a portraitist's atelier. She was one of a select 30 art students invited into an intense Advanced Placement summer program at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts to replace her freshman year, thus earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in three years’ study of painting and printmaking, ... more ➔
