Gordon College has acquired a piece of equipment called the “Bod Pod” that uses air-displacement plethysmography to accurately determine a person’s body composition, which Dr. Yi Sun regularly uses in her classes and in her research.

Gordon students can now be certified by the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and the American Marketing Association (AMA)—the two largest resource organizations for marketers and accreditations in the marketing world––thanks to a partnership Greg Smith, professor of business and marketing, has made with both institutions.

Oleksiy Svitelskiy secured his fourth NSF grant of 400k, the largest NSF grant Gordon has ever received. The grant is a continuation of a collaboration with the Ekinci Group at Boston University (BU), an R1 institution. Dr. Kristen Siaw will be his co-primary investigator on the grant.

For the second year in a row, a team from Gordon’s Business Club competed at the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition (ICBSC) and had stellar results, winning awards for “Best Overall Performance” and “Best Documents in Their World.”

Dr. Paul Brink, professor of political science, spent his sabbatical exploring reasons behind this political dissatisfaction and seeking to find a different approach to fairness and justice. He found our country is in desperate need of a theory of justice that takes better account of the diverse communities and identities of American society.

On Thursday, March 14, Gordon College hosted its annual Franz Lecture, a legacy event that’s been happening for over 30 years in honor of the late Professor David Franz, a visionary who helped shape the social sciences at Gordon. This year Young presented the lecture, based on his newly published book "Adam Smith’s Theory of Value and Distribution: Economics as a Moral Science Once Again."
