Environmental Studies

Overview

Are you curious about how humans interact with the natural world? Maybe you’re a social welfare major interested in working with underserved communities lacking natural resources or a chemistry major seeking to employ non-toxic methods.

Perhaps you’re a business management major looking to steer corporations to sustainable business practices or an international affairs major wanting to address environmental issues that face the developing world. An environmental studies minor will help you connect your major with creation care ethics.

Why study environmental studies at Gordon?

Located just three miles from the ocean and with 450-acres of wooded trails, ponds and protected wetlands, Gordon offers an excellent school for environmental studies and practical learning experiences.

You’ll be taught and mentored by faculty who are active, faithful leaders in their scientific fields. By blending science with policy, economics and community development, they’ll offer you a big-picture approach within a Christian framework.

What can Christians bring to environmental studies?

Christians exploring environmental studies in support of their vocation interest can have major impact across any industry they choose to pursue. By approaching work with the goal of honoring and caring for God’s creation, they can help protect our world and its resources for future generations to come.
