Overview
Biology is the study of life—from molecules to biomes. If you have a natural fascination with God’s creation, majoring in biology will enable you to investigate life on land, in the air and underwater.
In studying biology, you’ll learn to see faith and science as deeply connected by exploring bigger topics like bioethics, creation care and stewardship. Whether you’re interested in the human body, plants, animals or microbes, our five concentrations will help you tailor your studies to meet your career goals: Biotechnology, Ecology and Conservation, Human Biology, Marine Biology and Professional Biology.
Why study biology at Gordon?
Massachusetts is a global leader in life sciences, and Gordon’s prime location on Boston’s North Shore offers students regular opportunities to see biology in action through immersive experiences in our own 485-acre backyard, nearby coastal hotspots, the Boston biotech corridor and leading healthcare facilities.
From zoology to physiology labs, from human cadavers to genetics labs, you can work in our state-of-the-art laboratories throughout your years here. Plus, with our low student-faculty ratio, you’ll be taught and mentored by leaders in the fields of biology and anatomy whose commitment to care stems from their Christian faith.
What can Christians bring to biology?
With a commitment to creation care and a desire to celebrate God’s incredible handiwork in the human body, Christian biologists can approach their work as an affirmation of human dignity and celebration of His image present in human beings at creation.
