A Gordon residential college experience is shaped by faith, informed by learning, and shared through living together can be one of the most transformative aspects of your Gordon journey. Every day experiences with others who are also eager to embrace the chance to live in community are wonderful and challenging, rewarding and thought-provoking, and often lead to lasting friendships and fun memories together.
Living in community can be one of the most encouraging and transformative experiences in your Gordon journey. Its where faith, learning and living come together every day. Where you add your uniqueness to the groups on your floor and in your residence hall. The path to full flourshing starts with a great welcome to Gordon and continues with developing your own sense of belonging - being known and growing in eagerness to explore. Stepping in to engage with all the opportunities with friends, in the hall, and on campus can help you learn to thrive - physically, socially, spiritually, academically, and even professionally!
Each residence hall on campus has its own character, shaped by its residents -and one of them is you! There are three basic types of residence - community style, suite style, and apartment style. There is an intentional mix of first-year, second- and third-year students in community style and suite style halls and houses. We value you having the chance to learn with others who are just a little further ahead on their own Gordon journey. Apartment style halls are usually third- and final-year students who've found a close group of friends to share an apartment and their own small community of meals and fun together for the year.
Each residence hall has both a professional staff Residence Director, and each floor or house has an in-residence student Residence Advisor - a seasoned Gordon student selected to encourage, support hall residents and to cultivate fun, intentional, engaging activities to explore faith, learning, and living together.
We're looking forward to having you with us this year!
