Sustainable Development

Overview

Are you hoping to cultivate maintainable solutions to difficult problems worldwide? Sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.

While many people think about what to do, few take the next step of thinking about how to do it. With a sustainable development minor, you’ll learn to think critically about the environmental, social and economic pressures on people and places throughout the world—all in support of your major.

Why study sustainable development at Gordon?

Our faculty are adept in a variety of fields and guide you through your minor studies, assuring you’re prepared to enter critical conversations and diverse careers. As one of only a few sustainable development programs offered at a Christian college, you’ll have the unique opportunity of better understanding how our faith compels us to holistic justice worldwide.

What can Christians bring to sustainable development?

Christians in sustainable development have the exciting opportunity of balancing the need for creation care and people care. By focusing their vocation on exploring ways to minimize pollution, steward renewable resources and generate green space, Christians can have a lasting impact on the environment and populations around the world for years to come.
