Bio

Sarah Grant, a graduate of Gordon College, has returned to Gordon College as the Director of Graduate Education. She has spent her career in various PreK-12 roles, including teaching, instructional coaching and administration. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in middle school education and English from Gordon College, she received a Master of Educational Leadership from University of Southern Maine. Sarah completed a Doctor of Education with a focus on curriculum and instruction from Northeastern University.

Her passion areas have been on best instructional practices, including disciplinary literacy, tiered instruction, student engagement, restorative discipline, and SEL-integrated instruction. Her research has focused on best practices in literacy instruction, teacher self-efficacy and the factors which impact a teacher's instructional decision-making. Other areas of interest include: adult learning theory and how teacher-learners are impacted by perceptions of instructional best practices, obstacles to instructional implementation, and philosophical orientations.
