Mary Riso

Dr. Mary Riso is the Director of Education Administration for the School of Education. She is an Adjunct Instructor in the Undergraduate Department of Biblical Studies, and also teaches a variety of newly developed writing courses in the Graduate Education program. She is the author of The Narrative of the Good Death: The Evangelical Deathbed in Victorian England (Routledge) and Heroines: Great Literary Characters and What They Have to Teach Us (Wipf and Stock). Mary also contributed a chapter to Every Leaf, Line, and Letter: Evangelicals and the Bible from the 1730s to the Present published by InterVarsity Press. Mary earned her BA in Philosophy from Georgetown University, her Master of Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and her doctorate in History from the University of Stirling in Scotland where she studied with Professor David Bebbington. Her research interests include nineteenth and early twentieth-century British History, British and Russian literature, and the history of film.
