Bio

Jacob Padilla is a filmmaker who graduated from Gordon in 2017 with a degree in Theatre and Communications Arts. His senior thesis, the science fiction comedy, The Being Who Fell From the Stars, played at festivals across the country, and went on to win multiple "Best Student Film" awards. Soon after graduating he started his own video production company, Lunchbox Films, which specializes in non-fiction storytelling for businesses and nonprofits.

In 2021, he produced his first feature length film, Mean Spirited, with fellow Gordon alum, Jeff Ryan. The horror-comedy had its world premiere at the industry-leading genre film festival, Fright Fest, in London, before being released on the streaming service Shudder.

Jacob is currently in post-production on his latest film as producer, Mooch, a crime-comedy that was filmed in Massachusetts in the Fall of 2023. In the documentary space, Jacob is wrapping up production on The Peace Cathedral, for which he serves as producer and editor. This 5+ yearlong project recounts the construction of an interfaith peace center for religious and non-religious minorities in the Republic of Georgia.

Jacob is excited to cultivate the next generation of filmmakers and video artists at Gordon.
