Theology for Community Transformation

Overview

Faith leaders who pursue community transformation interpret and embody the values, habits and practices of God’s Kingdom within their unique situations. Your courses will cultivate your imagination, inspiring your commitment to mobilize your community’s creative contributions for “Thy Kingdom come.” What will your community look like when relationships with God, one another, society and creation experience transformation?

With our Master of Arts in Theology for Community Transformation or a certificate in Scripture, Theology and Transformation, you'll gain the skills you need to serve your community with confidence, competence and compassion.

Designed to fit alongside your busy life and established career, our program can be taken at your own pace with the opportunity of securing a certificate in 10 months or a full degree in two years. In the fall and summer, courses kick off with a 4-day in-person intensive, while the remainder of the semester takes place asynchronously online. Our spring courses are fully asynchronous online.

What careers can I pursue with Theology for Community Transformation?

In your neighborhood and around the world, be empowered to make a difference with tools that have effective impact. For a long time theology degrees were only linked to full-time work in the church, but we believe theological education should be for everyone. We’ve developed a new approach that equips anyone to lead—regardless of profession. This M.A. and certificate are designed to come alongside leaders in the communities they already belong to and empower them to think theologically and contextually.
