Social Impact Ministries

Overview

Interested in community organizing, entrepreneurial ventures or community development? Come explore social impact ministry as a minor at Gordon College.

Here you’ll be prepared to be a transformative leader in the Church and society. Learn how to enact the gospel’s liberating power and put into action your love for God and love for your neighbor. Contribute to or create ministries that pursue shalom—for persons, communities and society.

Why study social impact ministries at Gordon?

Gordon’s Christian ministries faculty are committed to ensuring that you not only study about ministry during your time at Gordon, but that you also engage in ministry. Our faculty will help you discover how you can embody God’s transforming, reconciling and peacemaking love for the people in your community. Learn to bring life-giving hope and healing as you meet the challenges of our complex world.

How can studying Social Impact Ministries help you be a difference-maker for Christ?

Christians have been leaders to some of the most influential social organizations for centuries, including international names like World Relief, Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army. But you don't need a big name to have a big impact. Christ called us to be a light in a dark world. Christians focused on social impact can get involved and make a difference in their local communities and societies close to their hearts.
