Christian Ministries

Overview

Do you want to learn to discern God’s voice, expand your vision of God’s world and extend compassion to others with God’s love?

A Christian ministries major from Gordon College will prepare you to embody God’s transforming, reconciling and peacemaking. Here you’ll find space to grow and become equipped to join God’s redemptive movement in the world. You’ll marvel at the diversity of thought within Christianity and how this is an opportunity for the Body of Christ. Through hands-on research and practicums, you’ll gain practical experience leading impactful ministries with compassion and generosity. Choose from one of four concentrations for your studies: Global Christianity, Pastoral Ministry, Social Impact Ministries or Youth Ministries.

Why study Christian ministries at Gordon?

With a 400-hour hands-on practicum, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to put your faith and education into practice. Over 90% of Gordon students are involved in on and off campus ministries at places like Emmanuel Gospel Center in Boston, Intervarsity, the Salvation Army, the Chapel office and more.

Our faculty layer scholarship with practical skills and provide space to learn from others so you can deeply understand the diversity of Christianity and connect it with service to the world. Here you’ll build confidence in your passions and potential while being equipped as a difference-maker for Christ.

How can studying Christian ministries help you be a difference-maker for Christ?

With mounting divisions in the church and in our communities, Christians called into ministry are needed now more than ever. Christian ministers can use their passion for Christ to be difference-makers, bringing life-giving hope and healing to their local communities, churches and gatherings around the globe.
