Adventure Pursuits
Adventure Pursuits (AP) leaders facilitate half-day, whole-day and two-day overnight experiences for schools, churches and youth programs. AP leaders work with teams of two to ten staff to provide adventure programming on both the low course team-building elements and the high course elements. Belay training and testing are required (see belay training times) and staff follow a leadership growth plan. We ask that AP leaders commit to at least four to five events per season. AP days occur mainly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and occasionally during the weekdays.

Discovery
Discovery senior instructors and apprentices lead students in the eight-week quad class during fall and spring semesters. Classes include low ropes course activities, high ropes course elements, and a weekend trip for Gordon students. Belay training and testing are expected (see belay training times.)

Discovery Apprentice
Apprentice positions are available during quad 1, 2 and 4. This role is for Gordon College students only and their job is to assist Discovery instructors. Each apprentice is responsible for completing the belay testing for the high ropes course. They assist with planning classes, facilitation and debriefing. The apprentices play a crucial role in being able to relate to students in the class as a fellow student and peer, but also as a leader. Applications can be submitted through the form below.
Discovery Instructor
Instructor positions are available during quad 1, 2 and 4. We are looking for college graduates or post-college age adults that are spiritually mature and that appreciate experiential education in the outdoors. Discovery instructors lead classes of 8–13 students and are assisted by one or two apprentices. They are in charge of the facilitation of classes and are responsible for planning the camping weekend. All instructors must complete the belay testing for the high ropes course. Applications can be submitted through the form below.
Rock Gym
The La Vida Rock Gym offers volunteer and paid staff positions to operate our public climbing program on weekday nights. Staff can also work as facilitators for private events, such as birthday parties and climbing courses. Staff follow a growth plan designed to provide opportunities to develop leadership, facilitation, customer service, and climbing skills. Belay training and program-specific trainings are required for these positions.

Adirondack Expeditions Staff in New York
The New York staff runs wilderness trips for June, July, and August Gordon College trips and for groups that come during the summer season. Working for La Vida's wilderness expedition program as a Trip Leader or Base Camp Staff member is an exciting and rewarding adventure that develops growth in both leaders and participants. Three weeks of professional medical and sherpa training is provided during the summer as well as room and board.

Adventure Camp
La Vida Adventure Camp is an incredible opportunity to have fun playing games with kids, growing in leadership, and working in an intentional staff community on Gordon College's campus. Staff lead small groups of 10-15-year-olds on the low and high ropes course, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, canoeing, and large group games. Staff help youth draw meaning out of these experiences and build character, a positive self-identity, and a commitment to care in serving others. Adventure Camp is a day camp that takes place for seven weeks in the summer, not including training. All staff have room and board provided.

La Vida Intern
La Vida Interns will work alongside the full-time La Vida staff in several program areas as well as marketing, research, and office tasks. Each intern will work an average of 8 hours per week when classes are in session. Their job responsibilities may include; Discovery apprentices, Adventure Pursuits facilitators, Rock Gym facilitators, equipment managing, food managing, as well as office work and planning events. La Vida interns usually have primary responsibilities in one program area, but may work across all programs and will report directly to and be primarily overseen by one La Vida staff member.
