About:

Krista Erikson is a 1991 Graduate of Gordon College. She has taught at the elementary level for over 15 years, including general education and special education classrooms. Krista earned her Masters degree in Reading from Gordon in 2011. Krista also holds a Graduate Certificate of Dylexia Studies and Language Based Learning Disabilities from SNHU. Krista is a Wilson Reading System® Trainer and an Acadience® Reading and Acadience® Math Mentor. Krista has also had training in Orton Gillingham, LiPS, Visualizing and Verbalizing, EmPOWER, Project Read: Written Expression: Applied Writing and Framing Your Thoughts, and On Cloud Nine. She is a life-long learner always seeking ways to better instruct her students.

Krista loves working with students who struggle in reading and with pre-service teachers and certified teachers to help them understand the science of reading instruction and how best to help all readers. Krista continues to tutor students privately and acts as an educational advocate for some as well. She has a passion to see children learn to read and come to love reading. Krista knows the impact it can have on children as one of her former tutoring students, who recently graduated from college with a degree in engineering, wrote a note saying, "Thank you for changing my life." She enjoys helping other teachers know how to make that difference in the lives of their students.

Krista lives with her husband of over 30 years in East Wakefield, NH. They have four adult boys, one of whom currently attends Gordon College. Krista and her husband love to travel, hike, kayak and snowshoe. They love being with family, which means more traveling as family is in WY, TX, FL, MA, CO. MT and CA.
