About:
Dr. Young is a Lecturer in Economics and Business at Gordon College. He is also an Emeritus Professor of Economics at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where he taught for over 35 years. Dr. Young has published extensively on the writings of Adam Smith, including dozens of research articles and book chapters, and two books: Economics as a Moral Science: The Political Economy of Adam Smith, (Elgar 1997) and Adam Smith’s Theory of Value and Distribution: Economics as a Moral Science Once Again (Routledge, 2024). He also edited The Elgar Companion to Adam Smith. Dr. Young resides in Springvale, Maine, where he continues to study the moral philosophical underpinnings of Smith’s economics.
