Pre-Law

Overview

Critical thinking and a deep understanding of the nature of society and justice are central to the field of law and legal analysis. Studying these as a pre-law minor at Gordon College can give you a unique head start to a career in law. The American Bar Association and leading law schools recommend undergraduates pursue broad, rigorous preparation in the liberal arts. Our faculty, with their in-field experience in law and philosophy, will introduce you to the philosophy of law, constitutional law, formal logic and economics—equipping you with the skills necessary for success in law school and beyond.

Why study pre-law at Gordon?

On average, 93% of Gordon alumni either enter the job market or enroll in graduate school within one year of graduation. Our accomplished faculty will teach you to develop your Christ-like calling to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly in a life of public service.

Gordon’s New England location opens doors to internship and job opportunities in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C. and beyond. You may even have the opportunity to experience places like the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, the Supreme Court, and the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

What can Christians bring to law?

Christians who believe in a God who loves justice are needed more than ever to defend the marginalized and balance the scales of justice. By advocating for fair laws and ensuring our neighbors get the justice they deserve, Christian lawyers can bring about Christ’s redemption and restoration to this world.
