French

Historically, French has played an important role in diplomacy, literature and the arts. Today, it is the official language in close to 30 countries and the lingua franca of many others, and Forbes reports that French is the language of the future as it is projected to be the "most-spoken language in the world" by 2050. 

In studying French as a minor at Gordon College, you'll not only become proficient in the language of Molière, Pascal and Sartre, you'll also be well equipped to engage with a variety of Francophone cultures and individuals on both a local and global level. Since Inside Higher Ed reports that students studying French made far larger gains in writing, analytical and critical thinking skills than students in other areas of study, this minor also serves as an excellent complement to your academic major studies.

You might also combine your French studies with linguistic courses to deepen your knowledge of language acquisition.
