The School of the Humanities and Social Sciences at Gordon College offers a number of paths and resources to help you fulfill your dream of working to promote peacemaking in a world torn by conflict. We provide three academic programs, global study and lectures and grants all designed to help you understand the causes of violence while preparing you with the tools needed to develop and implement strategies to bring justice, healing and peace.

In addition to concentrations and minors in creative and professional writing, Gordon provides ample opportunities to continue honing your voice, including the annual Five Ponds Creative Writing Festival, off-campus writing and editing internships, departmental and student-led readings and events, student-led publications such as The Idiom, Vox Populi or The Tartan, and the annual Princemere Poetry Prize, a national poetry competition hosted by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
