Overview

Empower students to understand the world around them with Gordon College's Master of Education in social sciences for grades 5–12. This program prepares aspiring and current educators for initial or professional licensure, providing a strong foundation in history, geography and other social science disciplines, along with pedagogical skills to effectively engage middle and high school students.

A Deep Dive into History, Geography and Social Issues

Our comprehensive curriculum explores the complexities of human societies, cultures and interactions. Gain a broad understanding of key social science concepts through courses such as Principles of Geography, the History of Massachusetts and Exploring Urban Schools. Our interdisciplinary approach will empower you to create engaging and relevant learning experiences that connect historical events, geographic perspectives and contemporary social issues.
