Program Details & FAQ

Take a step with us. Step into lakeside journaling, cucumber salad creating, and Boston road trip karaoke-ing. Step into faculty workshops and fun-filled dinner conversations. Step into a new rhythm of life.

Here at Heritage, we focus on life’s little steps: habits. We model to one another how a joyful, Jesus-rich life can be lived every day. We dig into God’s Word every morning, experience and reflect on His faithfulness in our stories every afternoon, and celebrate together in small groups every evening. We build friendships. We create beautiful things. We feast.

This summer, step out to the North Shore of Massachusetts. Step into a week of laughter-filled, Christ-seeking practices with new friends. Renewal awaits.

Program Dates

We are delighted to announce that Heritage will be hosting TWO separate residency weeks this summer! Mark your calendars and join us on campus for either:

  • June 22-27, 2025
  • July 27-August 1, 2025

Pack your bags and get ready to move into Chase Hall on the Sunday afternoon of your residency week. Local students will be picked up on Friday evening and national/international students will fly out Saturday morning.

Program Location

Our staff can't wait to welcome you to Gordon College's stunning campus, nestled just 25 miles north of Boston. During your on-campus residency week, you can look forward to practicing life as a real college student: enjoying delicious meals in Lane Student Center, befriending your roommate and suitemates in one of our our most comfortable dorms, and settling down in the summer grass for some solo time reflection. The place will feel like home in no time!

Beyond Gordon's campus, Heritage takes you exploring into some of the most beautiful pockets of the North Shore of Massachusetts. Get excited to notice God's beauty and presence on the beaches of Gloucester, the brick-red streets of historic Boston, and the sweeping blueberry fields of an Amesbury farm alike. Creation is your campus!

Program Cost

A Heritage 2025 residency week costs $1300.

The total cost of the program covers:

  • Housing on campus
  • 3 meals/day
  • 4 college credits at a 70% discount
  • Cultural excursions into Boston and the North Shore
  • Transportation to/from Logan International Airport
  • Program materials

Here at Heritage, we strive to live and give from the generosity we have been shown by Christ. Each summer, we take great joy in awarding scholarships on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please indicate this in your Heritage application. Once you have submitted your regular application, you can find a separate scholarship application located in your student portal. Our team will wait to release your admissions decision until we have received both of your applications.

Phone Policy

Heritage is a technology-free program. In a world that rewards busyness and distraction, Heritage is committed to creating an environment for students of deep peace and renewing beauty. Students are invited to "set aside" their phones for the week during the program's orientation as we commit our minds, hearts, and bodies to a week of transformation, friendship, and personal growth. Program staff will be available throughout the week for emergency communications. For further information, please reach out to our team.

“This past week has been one of the greatest I have ever experienced in my entire life. Not only was I surrounded by amazing teens and leaders, but the lessons that were taught, the workshops that encouraged us to look closer at God’s creation, and the counselors that led us through the steps to recognize the Lord's plan for each of us were just so incredible … I would gladly do it again.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do I receive college credit? Yes! Heritage is an accredited program through Gordon College that encompasses a 4-credit class. To earn your credits, engage thoughtfully with your pre-reading materials + a brief reflective project, come to campus brimming with curiosity and excitement for your residency week, and reflect intentionally on your experience in 2 short assignments. Official class transcripts will be emailed out by Gordon College's Registrar shortly after the program.

  • What will the schedule look like during the week? Each day will begin with Morning Assembly, a gathering where our Chaplain leads us through a time of studying Scripture and praising God together. Before lunch, our cohort will enjoy a hands-on creative workshop led by Gordon faculty (past workshops have included: poetry, pottery, architecture, theater, and choral singing!). Afternoons are dedicated to illustrating the day's teaching through cultural excursions into Boston & the North Shore. In the evenings, we will delight in hosting "hospitality dinners," preparing the food, table arrangements, and conversations ourselves! Each day concludes with an uplifting time in small groups, reflecting on the day and praying together with our college-aged counselors.
  • How much does Heritage cost? The total cost of the program is $1300. If the cost is a financial challenge for your family, please indicate in your application that you would like to apply for a scholarship! Your scholarship application will then pop up in your student portal.
  • How long is Heritage? Students arrive on campus on a Sunday afternoon and depart on Friday evening/Saturday morning. The pre-reading & assignments for the Heritage course will begin a month before the residency week and conclude 2 weeks after the experience.

  • How do I arrange transportation to/from Heritage? Heritage staff will provide transportation to and from the airport. Once you book your flights, please forward your flight receipts to [email protected].

  • If I'm planning to fly in, which airport should I fly into and what time should I plan my flights to arrive and depart? Book your flights to arrive to Boston Logan International Airport! Our Orientation begins on Sunday afternoon, so please choose a flight that arrives in BOS before 3:00pm on the Sunday of your residency week. All national/international students will be dropped off at the airport on the Saturday morning directly following their residency week. We would encourage you to book a late morning flight that day.

“It blew my expectations out of the water. Instead of classroom settings, we were given hands-on experiences to immerse ourselves in the week.”

“It was truly beautiful that Jesus can turn a group of strangers into family in a week. The week at Gordon really emphasized the fact that Jesus is the great unifier.”
