The Master of Education and Educational Specialist in English as a Second Language degree programs offer a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip educators with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively teach English to learners who are not proficient in the language, grades PreK-6 and 5-12. Core courses such as Language Acquisition, Learning Disabilities and the ELL, Sheltering Content Instruction for ELLs, and Advanced Theory and Practice for Teachers of ESL provide a strong foundation in language acquisition, culturally responsive teaching, and effective instructional strategies.
