Academic-based scholarships are determined by your GPA, academic achievements and plans to live on campus. Use the scholarship calculator to find out which scholarship you may qualify for! Gordon College is test optional. Submission of test scores may increase your scholarship amount but will never negatively affect your scholarship amount.

Gordon Honors Institute Fellowship
$2,000 first year | $1,000 each additional year with continued participation
Added to your academic and other scholarships up to $22,000 per year
One-year honors learning group with extended opportunities across all four years, such as global study, internships and research.

Attend an Honors Day on December 6 or January 24.

A. J. Gordon Scholars
$3,000 per year ($12,000 over four years)

Cultivating the curiosity and character of emerging scholars and leaders
This longstanding four-year scholars program named for our founder tailors individual academic and personal development for emerging scholars and leaders, reflecting the foundations in earnest learning and faith demonstrated by Dr. A. J. Gordon himself. The A. J. Gordon Scholarship is awarded to 12 first-year applicants each year.
Program Highlights:
- A personal learning plan through all four years culminating in a capstone, honors thesis or internship.
- Preparation for servant-leadership through practical experiences in community engagement
- Seminars, weekend retreats and social experiences to explore leadership, spiritual disciplines and calling.
Requirements:
Complete the Gordon application and GHI application before December 1.
Attend an Honors Day on December 6 or January 24.

Clarendon City Scholars
$3,000 per year | $12,000 over four years
Added to your academic and other scholarships up to $22,000 per year
Preparing students to pursue careers as leaders in cities and urban areas around the country
Are you a high school senior from an urban area who demonstrates leadership in your school and church, succeeds academically, and has a desire to positively impact urban communities? If so, apply to Gordon to be considered for this four-year program along with twelve other like-minded students.
Program Highlights:
- Annual Clarendon retreat, paid summer internship and a capstone senior thesis project.
- Scholars will explore five pillars: personal growth, reconciliation and cultural fluency, community engagement, leadership development and professional and career development.
- This program prepares students to explore their calling and pursue careers as leaders in cities and urban areas around the globe.

Dokes Ministry Scholars
$3,000 per year ($12,000 over four years)
Added to your academic and other scholarships up to $22,000 per year
Training students for ministry through a five-year dual-degree opportunity
The Dokes Ministry Scholars program is the perfect option for students who feel a call to ministry or theological study. After five years in this dual-degree program, you will receive a Bachelor of Arts in either biblical studies or Christian ministries from Gordon College and a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Program Highlights:
- Earn a B.A. and M. Div. or M.A. in 5 years
- Learn biblical languages, study spiritual formation and develop a rich theological foundation for the future.
- Practical ministry experience and mentorship
Requirements:
Complete the Gordon application and GHI application before December 1.
Attend an Honors Day on December 6 or January 24.
Students must plan to major in Christian Ministries or Biblical Studies with a desire to attend seminary.

Global Scholars
$6,000 per year ($24,000 over four years)

Equipping thoughtful Christian leaders for lifelong global learning and engagement
The Global Scholars cohort equips thoughtful Christian leaders for lifelong global learning and engagement. Highlights include an international trip to places like Greece, Scandinavia, and England and a global internship with a Christ-serving organization. The Global Honors Scholarship is awarded to 10 first-year applicants each year.
Program Highlights:
- International trip: listen and learn from the unique voices of both Gordon faculty and global Christian leaders while traveling internationally with your cohort.
- International Internship: shape your future vocation and service in God’s kingdom through practical hands-on learning.
- Intercultural engagement through local experiences in Boston and around the North Shore.

Talent Scholarships

These scholarships are based on unique circumstances and are stackable with other Gordon scholarships.
Department of Music Leadership Award and Music Education Honors Award
$19,000 per year ($76,000 over four years)
(Replaces your academic scholarship but other scholarships can be stacked up to $22,000)
The Department of Music is pleased to award signature scholarships to 12 incoming music majors (B.M. in Music Education, B.M. in Music Performance, B.A. in Music) each year who demonstrate exceptional musical abilities, and who exhibit the potential for musical leadership and service in their field. Music Leadership and Music Education Honors awardees benefit from strong mentoring relationships and a commitment to serving our communities now and in the future. Through the nurturing of their God-given musical gifts and passion, each student will explore their calling through an intentional, personalized approach that undergirds and supports their development as Christian musicians, educators, scholars, and performers. Throughout their time at the Department of Music, each student will experience life at the intersection of faith and music-making and will develop a path forward through college and into the future where they will maximize their impact as leaders for Christ and the world.
Requirements:
- Apply to Gordon College and the Department of Music no later than February 16, 2025.
- Perform your audition by February 22 to be eligible for the Music Leadership and the Music Education Honors awards. Live and Zoom audition dates are available in December, January, and February.
Music Major Scholarship
$3,000 per year
Added to your academic scholarship and other scholarships up to $22,000
Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding abilities in performance and/or who show significant potential as future music educators.
Students must apply to the Department of Music by March 31, 2025, and perform their audition by the end of April to be eligible for a stackable music major scholarship. All scholarships are awarded by the faculty to incoming music majors based on their entrance audition and interview.
Music Minor and Musical Theatre Minor Scholarships
$1,000 — $2,000 per year
Added to your academic scholarship and other scholarships up to $22,000
Awarded to students who demonstrate well-rounded musical abilities and a willingness to engage and contribute to the Department of Music.
Students must apply to the Department of Music by March 31, 2025, and perform their audition by the end of April to be eligible for a stackable music major scholarship. All scholarships are awarded by the faculty to incoming music majors based on their entrance audition and interview.
Ensemble Participation Scholarship
$1,000 per year (based on Ensemble Participation)
Added to your academic scholarship and other scholarships up to $22,000
Awarded to students who are not music majors or minors. These are awarded to eligible students who demonstrate a high level of musical proficiency, and a desire to participate in Department of Music ensembles during their time as a Gordon College student.
Students must apply to the Department of Music by March 31, 2025, to be eligible for an Ensemble Participation scholarship. Scholarships are awarded by the faculty to incoming students based on their audition.
Art Major Scholarship
$1,000—3,000 per year
Added to your academic scholarship and other scholarships up to $22,000
Awarded to students enrolling as a fine arts major whose art portfolio has been reviewed by the Department of Fine Arts. These awards recognize excellence and the potential to contribute to the arts at Gordon. Students who wish to be eligible for an art major scholarship must submit their portfolio by March 1, 2025.
Theatre Major Scholarship
$1,000—3,000 per year
Added to your academic scholarship and other scholarships up to $22,000
Awarded to students enrolling as a theatre major who have auditioned within the Theatre Program. These awards recognize excellence and the potential to contribute to the arts at Gordon. Theatre Experience Day on Saturday, March 29, 2025 is the last day to audition for the Scholarship. Deadline to apply is March 22, 2025.
National Merit Scholarships
First-year applicants only
National Merit Scholarship Programs are stackable with other scholarships.
National Merit Finalist Scholarship
$3,000 per year | $12,000 over four years
Recipients of this scholarship must:
- Be recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist
- Designate Gordon as their top college choice with the NMSC and Gordon College Admissions
- $3,000 National Merit Finalist Scholarship includes the stipend provided by the NMSC
- The award is renewable based on a 3.25 GPA
National Merit Semi-Finalist Scholarship
$2,000 per year | $8,000 over four years
- Recipients must provide confirmation that they have been designated as a semi-finalist of the NMSC
- $2,000 National Merit Finalist Scholarship includes the stipend provided by the NMSC
- The award is renewable based on a 3.25 GPA
National Merit Commended Scholarship
$1,000 per year | $4,000 over four years
- Recipients must provide confirmation that they have been designated for the National Merit Commended Scholarship by the NMSC
- $1,000 National Merit Finalist Scholarship includes the stipend provided by the NMSC
- The award is renewable based on a 3.25 GPA

Church Student Assistance Program
Up to $1,000 per year | Up to $4,000 over four years
The Church Student Assistance Program is an opportunity for a church to assist its Gordon students with college costs by giving a minimum of $250. Gordon will match up to $1,000 of their gift. Learn more about the Church Student Assistance Program
Alumni Referral Scholarship
$1,000 per year | $4,000 over four years

Children of Fallen Patriots Scholarship
40% of tuition costs per year
Gordon College is deeply grateful for the service and profound sacrifice of our country’s fallen patriots. We also recognize their families’ sacrifices, and are offering a Children of Fallen Patriots Scholarship to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Young Life Scholarship
$500 per year | $2,000 over four years
Awarded to students who are active members of Young Life. Applicants may be asked to complete additional essay questions and provide recommendations from Young Life leaders. Apply for Young Life scholarship
