Musical Theatre

Overview

The musical theatre minor at Gordon College will prepare you to tell stories in a creative, engaging way. We learn about each other when we share stories that matter, and at the intersection of theatre and music, we find a blank canvas for storytelling. Complementing a wide range of majors—from art to communication—you’ll be equipped with proven techniques, whether your career leads you to Broadway or stages across the country.

Why study musical theatre at Gordon?

Gordon’s theatre program has been named among the “Top 20 Best College Theatres” in America by The Princeton Review. Our music offerings are guided by established faculty who’ve been nominated for GRAMMY Awards and performed at Carnegie Hall. They are also humble servants of Christ, committed to showing you how to glorify God in a performance-focused culture.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work in our unique black box theatre, designed by world-renowned architect Iain Mackintosh. You'll also enjoy theatre productions on the North Shore and in the greater Boston area.

What can Christians bring to musical theatre?

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. Music and theatre are meant to be experienced. Through relatable storytelling and tapping into their God-given talents, performers can help generate deep conversations and point people towards something greater than themselves.
