Ensemble Scholarship Auditions
Apply for an Ensemble Scholarship
Scholarships for ensemble participation are awarded to students who are not music majors or minors. These are awarded to eligible, incoming students who demonstrate musical proficiency and a desire to participate in Adams School of Music and the Arts ensembles during their time as a Gordon College student.
This audition is NOT for a specific ensemble, but only to be considered for an Ensemble Scholarship. (Auditions for ensemble placement are held during Fall Orientation).
Pianists are encouraged to audition on a band or orchestral instrument or voice.
Schedule your audition
Live auditions are strongly recommended for all applicants. Zoom auditions are available for international applicants or by petition. Recorded auditions are only accepted from students who are unable to attend any of the live or Zoom audition dates.
You should only apply for this scholarship if you do NOT intend to be a music major or minor!
Before applying for any music audition, you must be accepted to Gordon College. Gordon College admissions application.

All audition dates are live auditions (in person at Gordon College) unless otherwise noted:

Monday, February 17 | 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Next Day "Music Experience Day" (overnight possible) (deadline to apply: 2/10)
Saturday, February 22 | 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Enjoy complimentary dinner with music students (deadline to apply: 2/16)
Friday | March 21 | 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. | Accepted Student Day (deadline to apply: 3/16)
Monday | April 7 | 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. | Accepted Student Day (deadline to apply: 3/31)
Saturday | April 26 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Zoom Audition (deadline to apply: 3/31)
Deadline
Students must apply to Gordon College and the Adams School of Music and the Arts no later than April 20. Students must perform their audition by the end of April to be eligible for an Ensemble Scholarship.
About your audition
Your audition is max. five minutes in length. An accompanist is not required. For the audition, students are asked to prepare one selection that best demonstrates the current performance level on their instrument.
Recommended selection for ensemble scholarship auditions:
Choirs
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a folk song, art song, music theatre piece or hymn arrangement.
Instrumental Ensembles
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a solo piece, movement of work (concerto, sonata, etc.), etude or orchestral/band excerpt.

Submit a recorded audition
Live and Zoom auditions are strongly recommended for all applicants. Zoom auditions are an excellent option for international applicants or by petition. However, in cases where distance, time differences or technical challenges complicate Live or Zoom auditions, or if there are no more Live/Zoom audition dates are available, recorded video auditions are acceptable.
DVDs, CDs, YouTube links and other forms of media will not be reviewed. Video recordings must be digitally submitted using the GET ACCEPTED platform.
