Prepare for admission into graduate programs in speech-language pathology or audiology or for a career as a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA)—through the Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) post-baccalaureate studies at Gordon College. Designed for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts, this 12–16 month program includes up to 12 courses that are common pre-requisites for graduate school and ASHA certification.
Speech-language pathology has consistently been named among the top 100 jobs by the US News & World Report due to the overwhelming growth expected in the coming decade. Participants in Gordon’s studies find themselves uniquely prepared for graduate studies due to their foundational knowledge of Communication Science and Disorders (CSD) and commitment to a life of service.
GO THE EXTRA MILE
Upon completion of the program, you may apply for state licensure as an SLP assistant (SLPA) without any further education, as the CSD post-bacc at Gordon is made up of the coursework and practicum experience required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. SLPAs typically perform tasks prescribed, directed, and supervised by ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). While SLPAs can work in a wide variety of settings, most are employed in schools or private practices.
